D-REC Terms of Use

The service

D-REC is a recorder that transcribes on your device, available as a web app and an iPhone app. It records audio, lets you rewind through it, and writes a timed transcript, all on the device itself. You are responsible for having the right to record the people and rooms you record, including any consent your jurisdiction or your production requires.

Free use, trial and Pro

Without an account, takes stop at 10 minutes. Creating an account starts a 7-day unlimited trial. After the trial, takes stop at 10 minutes unless you subscribe to D-REC Pro, which removes the limit on the web and on iPhone.

D-REC Pro is sold three ways, in US dollars or the local equivalent shown at purchase: a subscription of $6.99 per month or $39.99 per year, or D-REC Pro Forever, a single payment of $79.99 that never renews. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. On the web you can cancel from the Manage control in Settings; on iPhone, from your Apple ID subscription settings. Remaining trial days carry into a web subscription. Buying Forever while a subscription is running ends that subscription. Payment is charged to your Stripe payment method or your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.

Your content

Everything you record belongs to you and stays on your device. We do not receive it, store it or claim any right to it.

Accounts

You may delete your account at any time from the account panel. Deleting the account ends any active plan without refund of the current period, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.

Warranty and liability

D-REC is provided as is. Speech recognition makes mistakes; verify anything that matters. To the extent permitted by law, Knight AI+AV LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
